Lance Cade, a former trainee of Shawn Michaels’ Texas Wrestling Academy has been released from his WWE contract according to PWInsider. He was re-signed in October of last year and worked in developmental until his most recent release.
Cade was supposed to be the big star of the TWA’s early graduates thanks to his size and look. Graduating with Brian Kendrick and Bryan Danielson, Cade was groomed for success by the WWE, even having defeated Shawn Michaels on television. Unfortunately for his career, at that point personal demons crept up and he was released from his contract. Even since his return he has not been on television.
This marks three former Michaels trainees released by the WWE. Paul London and Brian Kendrick were both released last year, and with Cade following, only Daniel Bryan (the aforementioned Danielson), the star of NXT and “Best Wrestler in the World” remains. With so much of NXT built around him, there’s no reason to expect Bryan’s release anytime soon.
