Chuck Liddell to Be First UFC Fighter Featured at Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds has chosen the Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter and UFC Hall of Famer, Chuck Liddell, as the first mixed martial arts fighter to be enshrined in their with a wax figurine, UFC officials today announced. Based out of London, England, Madame Tussauds features a Las Vegas branch at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino where the figurine will live and Madame Tussauds officials will unveil the sculpture May 28 at the UFC Fan Expo 2010, which takes place in conjunction with UFC 114 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

The sculpture of “The Iceman” cost approximately $300,000 to produce will be moved to the museum at the Venetian after the Expo where it will be put into a UFC Octagon and adorned with a UFC championship belt.

Liddell, 40, was enshrined in the UFC Hall of Fame in 2009 and currently serves as a coach on “The Ultimate Fighter 11.” After sitting out the past year in what UFC president Dana White called a retirement, Liddell returns to the cage at UFC 115 in June to fight fellow “TUF 11” coach Tito Ortiz or expected replacement coach Rich Franklin.
