Possible Package Art Leaked for Alien Blu-ray Set

News, Rumors

I’m sure I’m not alone in my excitement over the imminent release of the Alien Anthology Blu-ray release.

In space, no one may be able to hear you scream but that didn’t stop rumors of a high-definition presentation for the franchise from floating in the waters for the last few years — with hints of new special features produced by the team who brought Xenomorph fans the original (and still highly awesome) Alien Quadrilogy set and new commentaries with Sigorney Weaver being recorded.

Now it appears that images of possible packaging have surfaced on a home theater forum based out of Denmark. The fact that these images first popped up overseas could mean that this package (if it is indeed real) will be limited to a European release. I sure hope not, though.

I’m a huge fan of cool, elaborate packaging — regardless of how much self-space it takes up. I can always buy more bookcases. The artists behind this Alien Anthlogy packaging prototype have really outdone themselves. This looks amazing and I sincerely hope for the opportunity to one day house this set on my shelf.

There is no word on how — or if — the different packaging uncovered on the forum will compliment each other. One could be a limited-edition set while the other is the mass-market, consumer-friendly version. Your guess is as good as mine but I think we can all agree that the set looks amazing.
