THQ Announces The Last Airbender for Nintedo Wii & Nintedo DS

M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender will be in theaters this summer…and, to the shock of nobody, there will be a video game! THQ, who has done the Animated Avatar: The Last Airbender in the past, has picked up the license, and will release the game on the Nintendo Wii & Nintendo DS.

The Press Release goes on to say:

“The Last Airbender video game boasts original gameplay elements that create an experience never previously seen before on the Wii system,” said Doug Clemmer, Executive Vice President of THQ’s Kids, Family & Casual Games. “The artistic in-game graphics and dynamic combat were designed to fully engage players, while providing an exhilarating and interactive gaming moment.”

“Through its thrilling storylines and distinctive characters, Avatar: The Last Airbender has built an enthusiastic fan base, and there is incredible anticipation building for the theatrical release,” said Manuel Torres, Senior Vice President, Global Toys, Video Games & Consumer Electronics Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products. “Fans will be able to master their bending skills and relive action-packed scenes from the movie, playing as either Aang, or through the unique perspective of the antagonist, Zuko.”

So, that’s kinda cool, play as Zuko…

The Last Airbender game will be in stores in June, I’m guessing the week before the movie’s release.

I like Comics, Wrestling, Super Mario Bros & Dead Space. Oh ya, and Scott Pilgrim.
