Yesterday, ROH announced who the Motor City Machine Guns’ opponents for the May 8th show in New York City will be. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin will get a shot at the ROH World Tag Team Titles against the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli). Click here to read the press release.
The following wrestlers have also been confirmed for the NYC show, as well as the preceding night’s (5/7) show in Manassas, VA: Tyler Black, Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli (Manassas as well as NYC), Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Colt Cabana, Kenny King, and Delirious with Daizee Haze. In addition, Christopher Daniels will be making his ROH in-ring return on both nights that weekend, and ROH is featuring a “women’s dream match” in NYC between Amazing (Awesome) Kong and Sara del Rey.
Since this past Friday, ROH has announced several matches for the weekend of April 23rd and 24th in Dayton and Chicago, respectively. The recently announced matches are as follows:
April 23rd, Dayton:
– The American Wolves vs. The Dark City Fight Club
– Pick 6 Series Match: Chris Hero vs. Petey Williams
– Erick Stevens & Shawn Daivari vs. Necro Butcher & “Skullkrusher” Rasche Brown (can I call this “Interminable Feud Match”?)
April 24th, Chicago:
– The Briscoes vs. Austin Aries & Kenny King
– Eddie Edwards vs. The Metal Master (making his ROH debut)
– Petey Williams vs. Rhett Titus
Today in his podcast, Kevin Kelly, the new PPV play-by-play voice of ROH, asserted that Charlie Haas is currently in talks with both ROH and TNA. Nothing is concrete, obviously, but we will keep you updated on any further details as they develop.
ROH will be back in Philadelphia on May 21st and 22nd for more HDNet tapings. The following wrestlers have been confirmed at this point: Tyler Black, Roderick Strong, Claudio Castagnoli, Jerry Lynn, Cheech and Cloudy, Shawn Daivari, and Christopher Daniels. More confirmed talent will be announced in next week’s Newswire.
