Steve James directed Hoop Dream, one of the greatest documentaries about basketball back in 1994. He’s returned to the court as part of ESPN’s 30 at 30 series with No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson. The film covers the time when Allen Iverson was sent to prison for a bowling alley fight after he had led his high school to both the football and basketball state titles. I had a chance to talk with James after the film screened at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham, NC. No Crossover starts airing this week on ESPN.
