10 Thoughts on Raw 4/12/10: The Hoff, New Divas Champ, and Jennifer’s Hudson’s Husband (again)

Reviews, Shows, TV Shows

10. Well the UK fans sure like the “Hoff”. Anyways, why is Swagger defending the World Title (a Smackdown belt) against a Raw superstar? I mean seriously, if WWE won’t even follow their own brand rules anymore, whats the point of having 2 separate rosters anymore?

9. YAY! We have a new Divas champion. Now here’s the bad news. Its Eve Torres. I’m not saying she’s bad or anything like that, but would it have killed the WWE to put the belt on Gail Kim first?

8. I’m digging the Hart Foundation/ShowMiz feud right now, especially if it means more Bret Hart on WWE TV, but once again, Aren’t Hart Foundation suppose to be SMACKDOWN superstars? I mean, they could easily just have this feud on smackdown, as ShowMiz are technically allowed to appear on the show, yet they hardly ever do.

7. Glad to see Carlito and Bourne back on Raw. Fantastic match for the limited time they got.

6. No surprise here that the UK fans hates Cena, as the country has plenty of “smartmark” wrestling fans.

5. I still don’t understand why Otunga is getting all this attention. Oh wait, yeah I do. It’s because he’s getting married to a celebrity. So I guess the WWE’s policy on becoming a star in the company is to either be married to a celebrity, or married to the boss’s daughter.

4. And the burial of Kofi Kingston continues, while the push of Sheamus is still rising. I actually like Sheamus, but why exactly is Kofi getting the burial treatment each week? Oh yeah, according to Randy Orton, he’s “Stupid, Stupid!”

3. Please tell me I’m not the only one who actually does want to see Kozlov destroy “MacGruber” next week?

2. I really rather not talk about this so-called “Baywatch Babe” match. It was just….brutal.

1. Nice main event of Batista/Orton. I’m still trying to get used to the fact Orton is a face again, but he sure is a damn good face at this point. The image of Cena counting to 10 while Batista was out cold was a good way to build to their last man standing match, and actually the build to the Extreme Rules PPV has been pretty good so far, as far as the main event matches go.

Thanks for joining, and I’ll hopefully be back next time with my Chikara Crash Course column.
