Updated TNA Lockdown Card with a New X-Division Match, Hulk Hogan, Jeff Hardy, more

News

Dixie Carter Twittered that Homicide and Brian Kendrick vs. The Motor City Machine Guns will be a bonus match to the PPV on Sunday. No word, of course, on whether this means it will be on the pre-show, internet, or actually PPV.

What happened to all the hype around MCMG vs. Generation Me that seemed to be leading to a tag title run? Looks like that great series was for nothing. This match should be a fun spotfest, but little more.

Here are the other matches on the card (everything, of course, is in a cage):

Rob Van Dam vs. James Storm
for the advantage in the Lethal Lockdown (think War Games) match.

This… doesn’t look great. Both guys are very good, but this will be short and interference filled. Even TNA can’t be dumb enough to let RVD win and give the faces the advantage… right?

Team 3-D vs. Scott Hall and X-Pac

Could this really look worse? 3-D and Hall haven’t been in a good match in at least a half of a decade.

Kevin Nash vs. Eric Young

Captain Mediocre and the patron saint of failed pushes that he never deserved gets to face a nearly crippled old man one on one.

Kurt Angle vs. Ken Anderson

During which we should get an Angle injury angle so he can take a few weeks off.

Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne © vs. Angelina Love © and Tara
in a double knockouts title cage match

Really, what the hell does that mean?

Doug Williams vs. Shannon Moore vs. Kazarian
for the X-Title

I know TNA is a little Schitzo, but for Doug’s anti-X-Division angle to work, he needs to be in regular damn matches.

TEAM HOGAN (Captain Abyss, Jeff Jarrett, RVD, Jeff Hardy) vs. TEAM FLAIR (Captain Sting, Desmond Wolfe, Beer Money) in a Lethal Lockdown Match

TNA could really put over a heel (Roode or Wolfe) strong here, finishing off a few major faces, but I’m instead expecting a nonsensical heel turn by Abyss or Jarrett or general Hogan nonsense.

AJ Styles vs. The Pope for the TNA World Title

And the all but guaranteed match of the night.
