Dancing with the Stars Episode 10-5 Results Show

The show begins with Derek and Nicole being safe and Kate and Tony being one of the couples in the bottom two. Then Len reviews the performances of the dancers from last night.  He says Pam and Damian’s dance was not a feature film because of too little dancing. Jake and Erin are revealed to be in the middle of the pack. Niecy needs to up her game. Chad’s dance lacked the wow factor and he’s not living up to his full potential. Kate’s dance didn’t have enough going on. Niecy, Chad and Kate need to work harder. Nicole and Evan are in a battle at the top. The encore performance is Jake and Chelsie.

Next up is Maxwell singing his hit “Fistful of Tears”. Then Niecy is revealed to be safe.  Adam Corolla does a segment making fun of some of the contestants. I always feel his segments hit some humorous points but it’s always tempered with a little too much of his goof-ballness like the fake crying tonight.

The Macy’s Stars of Dance pays homage to four famous movie dance sequences choreographed by Margarite Derricks. It begins with Fred Astaire’s “Putting On the Ritz,” followed by five dancers dressed in white dancing to “You Should Be Dancing.” Next is the opening sequence from “Austin Powers” with that sixties style of dance. Then Debbie Allen appears in the “Fame” sequence including the “fame costs” speech. I always liked that little speech.

Next up is Debi Nova singing the song “Drummer Boy”. Derek, Tony, Dmitry and Damian dance around her and it’s a very fun number. Then we are treated to a segment where the celebs get to pick out the costumes for their dance partners for next week.  Evan is the most gentlemanly about it saying it’s more important that Anna looks good. Evan and Anna are safe.

Erin and Maks are safe but Damian and Pam are in jeopardy.  Jake and Chelsie are safe. Chad and Cheryl are safe but Cheryl doesn’t hear at first and her facial expressions are amusing. So it’s Kate and Tony and Pamela and Damian in the bottom two, and Kate and Tony are going home.  It seems she gets a longer than usual exit interview minus the stroll down memory lane clip.  Kate is very emotional and can barely talk, so Tony interviews with Tom how proud he is of her. I am glad she is gone.  I admit I don’t have kids so maybe that’s why her appeal is elusive to me.  Like Carrie Ann has pointed out, she doesn’t have any performance background so I know it must have been very difficult for her, but every time she was on the screen, she made me so uncomfortable.
