MMAWeekly reports that UFC on Versus 2 will take place August 1st in Salt Lake City yesterday.
“The Salt Lake Tribune on Monday reported that the promotion had recently applied to the Utah Athletic Commission for approval of the event. Marc Ratner, UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, on Tuesday confirmed the Salt Lake City event to MMAWeekly.com.
UFC on Versus 2 will take place at EnergySolutions Arena and air live on the Versus network. It will be the promotion’s second Sunday night event; the first was the UFC on Versus 1 on March 20 in Broomfield.” [MMAWeekly]
UFC and Dana had originally targeted Oakland, CA for the 2nd live event on the Versus network, but it appears as that with this shift in focus, the Bay Area might be in line for a pay-per-view within the year.
