With the 75th overall pick, the Chicago Bears select: Major Wright S Florida

With the 74th overall pick, the Jacksonville Jaguars select: D’Anthony Smith DT Louisana Tech

With the 73rd overall pick, the Miami Dolphins select: John Jerry G Ole Miss
Kiper loves saying “Computer Numbers” today.
John Jerry is a good pick, played guard at ole miss, but could play tackle in NFL

With the 72nd overall pick, the Buffalo Bills select: Alex Carrington DE Arkansas State
Jeremy: Another great pick here. Alex Carrington is a small school sleeper.

With the 71st overall pick, the Green Bay Packers select: Morgan Burnett DB Georgia Tech
Jeremy: Very good pick for Green Bay. He’s been flying up boards lately. He had a tremendous pro day

Jeremy: Asamoah was a good pick, gonna be solid. Veldheer is a typical Al Davis pick, he’s a great physical specimen, Ed Dickson good TE, but a little early.

With the 70th overall pick, the Baltimore Ravens select: Ed Dickson TE Oregon

With the 69th overall pick, the Oakland Raiders select: Jared Veldheer OT Hillsdale
I’ve never heard of Hillsdale, so that’s how small that college is.

With the 68th overall pick, the Kansas City Chiefs select: Jon Asamoah OG Illinois

With the 67th overall pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: Myron Lewis CB Vanderbilt
Jeremy: Good pick. 4.46 40, so he could probably play cb in NFL.

With the 66th overall pick, the Detroit Lions select: Amari Spievey CB Iowa
Nice solid physical corner, not a great cover guy, but he can do some nice things on defense.

Jeremy’s Top 5 Available while we waste everyone’s Friday night:
19. Everson Griffen DE, USC
37. Damian Williams WR, USC
42. Bruce Campbell OT, Maryland
45. Cam Thomas DT, North Carolina
46. Eric Norwood OLB, South Carolina

With the 65th overall pick, the St. Louis Rams select: Jerome Murphy CB South Florida
Jeremy: Murphy has some character concerns, heard some teams took him off their board. Still a good pick though.

With the 64th overall pick, the New Orleans Saints select: Charles Brown OT USC
He has injury issues, but he’s a very talented player.
Jeremy: Almost best available on my rankings, but he was a former tight end, so he still needs to get stronger. He’s still learning the tackle position.

With the 63rd overall pick, the Indianapolis Colts select: Pat Angerer ILB Iowa
Not overly athletic, but good instincts. ESPN again left just as the pick was being made. Glad I can jump back and forth between ESPN and NFLN.
Jeremy: A reach according to my rankings. I had him at 167

With the 62nd oveall pick, the New England Patriots select: Brandon Spikes ILB Florida
Great player to team with Mayo to give the Pats two solid ILBs.
Jeremy: Cover your eyes!! Spikes ran a slow 40, but he’s a good linebacker. He’s tough and will be a force for the Pats.

With the 61st overall pick, the New York Jets select: Vladimir Ducasse OT UMass
Jeremy: Ducasse (who has family in Haiti) is big and a hard worker. He possibly could become an OT, but he’s more suited for guard. Mammoth run blocker.

Jeremy’s Top 5 Available
19. Everson Griffen DE, USC
33. Charles Brown OT, USC
37. Damian Williams WR, USC
42. Bruce Campbell OT, Maryland
45. Cam Thomas DT, North Carolina

With the 60th overall pick, the Seattle Seahawks select: Golden Tate WR Notre Dame
Probably one of the best WRs in the draft. Nice player.
Jeremy: Excellent pick, a little bit small for a wr, as he’s shown at ND, he fights for every ball in the air. He’s great at yards after the catch. Running routes will need improved too.

With the 59th overall pick, the Cleveland Browns select: Montario Hardesty RB Tennessee
Another big running back. That’s a trend for this draft.
Jeremy: Another good RB from the SEC. They had similar rushing totals in that conference last year. I had him projected in the 3rd round, but being drafted here is about right.

I like Tate more than Toby Gerhart that the Vikings took.

With the 58th overall selection, the Houston Texans select: Ben Tate RB Auburn
Great pick for the Texans that ESPN once again completely skips.
Jeremy: Excellent pick. Tate can be a 3 down back, one that won’t throw away games for them. He really helped his stock at the combine, but he still had a lot of yards in the SEC his senior year.

New England trades the 58th pick to the Houston Texans.

Jeremy’s Top 5 Available:
19. Everson Griffen DE, USC
28. Golden Tate WR, Notre Dame
33. Charles Brown OT, USC
37. Damian Williams WR, USC
42. Bruce Campbell OT, Maryland

With the 57th overall pick, the Baltimore Raves select: Terrence Cody DT Alabama
That is a big man. Cody is a run stuffer, this is a great pick for the Ravens.
Jeremy: Good pick for Baltimore, he’s not an every downs player, but he’ll be able to clog up the middle

With the 56th overall pick, the Green Bay Packers select: Mike Neal DT Purdue
He’s a 3-4 DE, perfect body for it, but could be a little iffy.
Lane Kimble: Another boring Packers pick, I swear they’ll pick all Big Ten too.

With the 55th overall pick, the Dallas Cowboys select: Sean Lee LB Penn State
Once again ESPN goes to commercial just as Goodell is walking to the podium.
Jeremy: Great pick for Dallas, Sean Lee is underrated and I believe he’ll be a great MLB in the NFL. This is one of my favorite players in this year’s draft.

Philly trades the 55th pick to the Dallas Cowboys.

With the 54th overall pick, the Cincinnati Bengals select: Carlos Dunlap DE Florida
Tons of talent, perfect fit for the Bengals.
Jeremy: The Bengals would draft Dunlap. They went for Michael Johnson last year, and these guys who have questions about trying all the time could pay off, but they won’t reach their full potential.

With the 53rd overall pick, the New England Patriots select: Jermain Cunningham DE Florida
Jeremy: Good pick. I had him going a little later, but he is a much harder worker than Dunlap and he deserves to be picked before him.
I completely missed this pick…thanks ESPN.
Jeremy’s Top 5 Available:
19. Everson Griffen DE, USC
28. Golden Tate WR, Notre Dame
33. Charles Brown OT, USC
36. Sean Lee LB, Penn State
37. Damian Williams WR, USC

With the 52nd overall pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers select: Jason Worilds OLB Va. Tech
Jeremy: Ok pick here. a little early, but he is versatile and with the tradition of great Steeler linebackers, I’m sure Worilds will become very good.

With the 51st overall pick, the Minnesota Vikings select: Toby Gerhart RB Stanford
Alright, a slow fullback trying to be a running back. Hopefully he can atleast hang onto the football OMG JOHN RANDLE!!!!!
Jeremy: Toby Gerhart is an excellent selection here. Him and AP…wow! That’s going to be a powerful offense.

With the 50th overall pick, the Kansas City Chiefs select: Javier Arenas CB Alabama
Great return guys, great speed at CB, he’s not going to be a shut down guy, but he can play.
Jeremy: Very good returner for KC, he’s a little undersized, but he makes up for it with his play.

Jeremy: Everson Griffen is still on the board and I think he has a lot of potential, probably will do more than what Jason Pierre-Paul will do.

With the 49th overall pick, the San Fransisco 49ers select: Taylor Mays Safety USC
Lets see how many consectutive picks ESPN misses because they’re too busy talking about Jimmy Clausen. Mays is a big hitter, but really fell in the last year.
Jeremy: Taylor Mays could improve the Niners pass defense, but he doesn’t wrap up and tackle well. He’s a big, physical presence in the secondary though.

Jeremy’s Top 5 Available
19. Everson Griffen DE, USC
28. Golden Tate WR, Notre Dame
33. Charles Brown OT, USC
36. Sean Lee LB, Penn State
37. Damian Williams WR, USC

With the 48th overall pick, the Carolina Panthers select: Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame
I’m sorry Paulie.
Jeremy: There it is, finally. Clausen had 28 tds to 4 ints. He’s pro ready, he will perform in the clutch. Nevermind the toe injury, I think this guy is going to be the best QB from this class.

With the 47th overall pick, the Arizona Cardinals select: Daryl Washington OLB TCU
Jeremy: Good pick for Arizona. Washington will be able to replace Karlos Dansby.
Chad: I’m not sure Dansby is that easily replaced.

With the 46th overall pick, the new York Giants select: Linval Joesph DT ECU
And we’ve got our second ESPN misses the pick. Nice work guys, way to wait until the later rounds to start.
Jeremy: Good pick. could be a nt or a dt. He rose quickly this offseason after being a relatively unknown.

With the 45th overall pick, the Denver Broncos select: Zane Beadles OG Utah
BEADS!!!?????? I thought you were british…and an actor…not a football player in Utah.
Jeremy: Well, another reach for the Broncos. Asamoah from Illinois is much better and the Broncos are building on offense, when they need to improve their defense. Bad pick.

Jeremy’s Top 5 available
4. Jimmy Clausen QB, Notre Dame
19. Everson Griffen DE, USC
28. Golden Tate WR, Notre Dame
33. Charles Brown OT, USC
36. Sean Lee LB, Penn State

Ya know, I thought Oakland has had a decent defense over the last few years, and this just makes them better.

With the 44th overall pick, the Oakland Raiders select: Lamarr Houston DT Texas
Jeremy: Houston had a good bowl game last January and he rose since the season ended.

With the 43rd overall pick, the Baltimore Ravens select: Sergio Kindle OLB Texas
Sweet Jebus another rusher coming off the end for the Ravens. Look out offenses.
Jeremy: Sergio Kindle drops a little bit and I’ve thought that might happen. A lot of people have asked me why he dropped him into the second.

With the 42nd overall pick, the New England Patriots select: Rob Gronkowski TE Arizona
Mike Mayock thinks he’s a first round pick, he must be decent if he was invited to the draft and sat in the green room.
Jeremy: Good pick. Gronkowski’s back has medically checked out, so he’s a very good TE. Mayock likes him in the first round, I’m not so optimistic, but he’s definitely worth this pick. Pats get a great offensive weapon here.

Oakland trades their pick to New England.

Holy crap ESPN, they just came back from commercial for 10 seconds, maybe if you hadn’t spent 10 minutes talking to Mike Holmgren you’d still be on time for breaks?

Oakland is on the clock.

With the 41st overall pick, the Buffalo Bills select: Torell Troup DT Central Florida
Off the board a little bit there, would have been nice if ESPN would have shown the pick being made rather than having an interview with Mike Holmgren over top of it.
Jeremy: Well Buffalo is switching 3-4 defense, so they took a NT. But Terrance Cody and Linval Joseph were rated higher by me.

Buffalo gets the pick in quick.

Jeremy: Wouldn’t it be amazing if Buffalo got CJ Spiller AND Jimmy Clausen?

With the 40th overall selection, the Miami Dolphins select: Koa Misi OLB Utah
Nice 3-4 OLB.
Jeremy: Koa Misi rose up boards fast after the Senior Bowl. 200+ tackles in his collegiate career. Very active LB and produces

Jeremy’s Top 5 Available
4. Jimmy Clausen QB, Notre Dame
19. Everson Griffen DE, USC
28. Golden Tate WR, Notre Dame
29. Sergio Kindle OLB, Texas
33. Charles Brown OT, USC

With the 39th pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: Arrelious Benn WR Illinois
Solid pick, gives them a nice weapon on the outside.
Jeremy: Ah, finally got one right. Benn suffered greatly from having Juice Williams as a QB

Jeremy: TJ Ward was number 132 on my board.

Raiders have traded the 39th pick to the Buccaneers.

With the 38th overall pick, the Cleveland Browns select: TJ Ward DB Oregon
Oregon has had a good secondary for a few years, he’s a good player.
Jeremy: Wow, a bigger reach than Alualu. I feel better as a Jags fan now that the Browns made that pick. He’s a decent player, but this is way too early. Jim Brown is right, Good Luck.

Jeremy: A LOT of people have had Colt McCoy going here. Browns have shown interest in him, let’s see if they go with him.

Cleveland is on the clock.

Jeremy:We knew the Eagles would be targeting a safety soon, and this is about where Allen was thought to have picked.

With the 37th overall pick, the Philadelphia Eagles select: Nate Allen DB South Florida
Big hitter, good explosiveness. Nice pick.

With the 36th overall pick, the Kansas City Chiefs select: Dexter McCluster RB Ole Miss
He’s a Darren Sproles type. He won’t be a full time RB, more of a slot guy and getting occasional carries.
Jeremy: Good pick for that slow offense of KC’s. He’s going to be a huge playmaker for KC despite his size.

Jeremy: This pick could be Charles Brown OT, USC….or Clausen

With the 35th overall pick, the Tampa Bay Bucs select: Brian Price DT UCLA
Wow…that should be a good defensive front with Price and McCoy.
Jeremy: Brian Price, PAC 10 Defensive Player of the year, a bit small for a DT, but he can push the pile and get into the backfield. Excellent, excellent pick

Tampa is on the clock.

Jeremy:Yea, the Vikings defensive backfield is in need of serious upgrades and Cook can come right in and start this year.

With the 34th overall selection, the Minnesota Vikings select: Chris Cook CB Virginia
Can’t complain, Winfield is overrated, Griffith is more of a saftey, Lito Sheppard is nice.
Jeremy: A lot of teams were interested in him. Minny got him while they could, almost like Jacksonville did yesterday with Alualu. Get your player while you can. Sometimes other teams aren’t willing to trade up.

Vikings on the clock and I’m terrified they’re taking Clausen.

With the 33rd overall selection, the St. Louis Rams select: Rodger Saffold OT Indiana
First round talent, gives Bradford someone to watch his back and maybe open some holes for Stephen Jackson.
Jeremy: Good pick for the Rams. Did the opposite of what the Lions did last year: they got their franchise LT to protect Bradford. Very very smart choice.

Jeremy’s Top 5 Available
4. Jimmy Clausen QB, Notre Dame
19. Everson Griffen DE, USC
27. Brian Price DT, UCLA
28. Golden Tate WR, Notre Dame
29. Sergio Kindle OLB, Texas

Jeremy: Rams have listened to offers probably since last night ended. So far none that they will go through with.

7 minutes between picks for this round so it should move even faster than last night.

Jeremy: Too much of an awards show feel to the draft. I don’t like it, but hey, no one’s gonna listen to me.

According to the ESPN bottom line, the draft resumes in ERROR.

The St. Louis Rams are on the clock, they’ve been fielding calls on the first pick all day.
