Brothers & Sisters – Episode 4-22 Review

The Walkers adjust to new situations in this week’s episode “Love All.” The upcoming season finale is evident as the subject of “Narrow Lake” is once again avoided, Justin continues be indecisive on going back to war, and Robert becomes more involved with his questionable new job.

While it was great to see one of Sarah’s kids actually have a story line, I wanted to scream the entire episode. Sarah seems like such a clueless parent. Yes, Cooper is out of control, but she doesn’t appear to be as hard on him as she should. Clearly a little time out at Luc’s insistence doesn’t cut it. To be fair, though. she does redeem herself through her talk with her son – as Luc says, “Nicely done.” I also enjoyed Cooper and Luc bonding over martial arts at the end, as Cooper definitely needed some kind of outlet for his energy.

On the other hand, Sarah is absolutely hysterical when she and Kevin reform their old tennis team of “Kevrah.” (I’d like to take a moment here to say…hah! I totally called it – the cliched “someone unemployed tries new careers” story line. But because Kevin and Sarah are so hilarious, I really don’t mind.) Between their overconfidence, their little hand gestures, and their ridiculous warm-up exercises, Sarah and Kevin have me laughing practically every time Kevrah is mentioned.

The humor was badly needed in between more Justin/Rebecca drama. I guess I shouldn’t complain since they haven’t had a story line in a while, but they still managed to annoy me. Rebecca is completely out of line as she places an offer on a house when Justin hadn’t even seen it yet. See, to me that’s a big step in a marriage, and she takes it alone. Maybe I’m watching too much House Hunters, but I just felt that this was a major thing Rebecca shouldn’t have done without at least talking to Justin about it. Is she really too dense to see that Justin isn’t at all thrilled by the idea of getting a house?

Meanwhile, Justin seriously thinks about returning to the military. Personally, I don’t really care that much if he does go since he’s not one of my favorite characters…although, if they do that rumored flash forward, he could be back for a while by the time the next season starts. In that case, maybe they will use his experience from that as his story line for the season.

And finally, Robert becomes more involved with whatever new job he signed up for. I’m still a little confused as to exactly what that is, but I’m sure we’ll find out more about what exactly Robert got himself into during the next episode to prepare us for the finale.

Though this was a filler episode, Kevrah along with other little moments made it enjoyable. But between Ojai in hot water, Robert’s possible death, and Justin making his decision, it’s hard to forget that the season finale is only an episode away.
