Dancing with the Stars Episode 10-7 Review

There are six stars remaining.  Tonight they will be doing a team dance to the Cha-Cha-Cha.  Up first is Erin and Maks with the Quickstep.  Maks wants to dance according to Len’s rules but with his pants coming off at the end. Erin and he have a fight over it.  I think she misunderstood his intentions.  They dance to “Dancing Fool” and they start the dance ripping off their pants and skirt respectively but they have costumes on underneath. Len thinks the start was fine and thinks it was Erin’s best dance. Bruno thinks it was “slick, lightening fast and brighter than Len’s tie” but Erin needs to watch the tensing up of her shoulders. Carrie Ann thinks it was gorgeous and fantastic. They get a 9,9,9  from the judges for a total of 27.

Chad and Cheryl are up next with the Viennese Waltz. Cheryl brings in Tony Dovolani to help Chad. Tony relates his instruction in football terms, and Chad starts getting it. They dance to “I Saw Sparks” and Cheryl’s dress is really cool.  It’s white, sparkly and frilly.  Bruno says Chad was graceful and gentle. He wants him to  continue the extension of his arms through his fingers.  Carrie Ann agrees about the extension and adds,  “There is nothing sexier than watching a man find out how to be tender and graceful.” Len disagrees with them both and says his arms were full of fluidity. He says Chad has become a contender. They get a 8,9,8 from the judges for a total of 25. The nine came from Len.

Derek and Nicole are up next with the Viennese Waltz. They are aiming to make it pure after Len’s comments about their dance last week. They are dancing to “You Light Up My life”, which is her aunt’s favorite song. Nicole’s aunt has Down’s syndrome. Nicole says it’s nice to be able to think about something “bigger than you” regarding her aunt.  Derek points out that Nicole gets down on herself and he blames himself for not complimenting her.  Is this Derek doing damage control?   He knows this game very well and I think he realizes Nicole doesn’t come off so great sometimes which can mean lost votes. She doesn’t demonstrate that champion attitude that Evan has. After dancing, she goes over to her aunt and gets Hawaiian leis from her.  Carrie Ann says that Nicole is by far the best dancer they have ever had but she feels Nicole didn’t become one with Derek as should happen in the Waltz. Len loved her routine but says there are a couple of technical things he’ll explain to her if she stops by his trailer.  Wow, Len. Bruno says Nicole is as close to dancing royalty as she can possibly be. She made a few mistakes because the choreography was so hard but it was amazing. They get a 9,9,9 from the judges for a total of 27.

Pamela and Damian are next with the Viennese Waltz. They go to the wildlife center where she volunteers. They clean some cages, etc. and go back to rehearsal. He joins them at the hips with a piece of fabric and it’s very intimate looking.  They dance to “At This Moment”.  Len says it was quiet and understated but she needs to work on firming her upper body. Bruno thinks it was pure and demure.  Pam got the essence and character right but she needs to watch the top line. Carrie Ann says there was improvement from last time in her legs. They get a 8,8,8 from the judge for a total of 24.

Nicey and Louis are next with the Quickstep.  They show an amusing clip of her reviewing her and Louis’s courtship complete with cheeseburgers. She says they are like a couple who “got divorced and then still have to tolerate each other for the sake of the kids.”  She yells at him for texting Kelly Osbourne and yells at her through the camera.  They dance to “You’re the Top”.  I thought she did great. Bruno says her footwork was better than ever. Carrie Ann says it’s her best dance and she loved it. Len agrees it was her best dance but she needs to lift her ribcage. They get a 9,8,8, from the judges for a total of 25.

Evan and Ana are next with the Tango. He is humbled by his low scores from last week. Rehearsal is intense. Ana says it has to be perfect. They dance to “Bust Your Windows”.  Carrie Ann says Evan has the “eye of the tiger”.  He was focused, and had power and control.  Len says he is “good on wood” and it was fantastic.  Bruno says he dances like a “true alpha male”.  He was powerful, aggressive, sexy, etc., “everything a girl would want”. He gets tens from the judges for the first perfect score of the season.

Next up are the group dances for the Cha-Cha-Cha. The first team is Team Ga Ga dancing to “Telephone”.  The celebrities on this team are Pam, Chad and Nicole.  In the group part, it didn’t seem Chad was in sync. Pad had issues with her arm, and Damian was holding her by the elbow at one point.  I enjoyed Chad’s solo the most.  Len says Nicole did a good Cha-Cha.  Bruno felt Pam kept up and that Chad turned up the heat. Carrie Ann says Pam struggled with certain points but the sexual energy of this team is going to be tough to beat. They are in their bodies, grounded and “cool”. They get a 9,9,9 for total of 27.

Next is Team Madonna and the celebrities on this team are Evan, Niecy and Erin. They dance to Holiday and the girls are dressed in Madonna eighties-type outfits.  The stars start off by themselves, dancing without their partners. Evan and Ana do their solo first and they look like they are having fun. Niecy and Louis look really happy and watching Louis dance, it makes me think disco must have come from the cha-cha-cha. I had never made that connection before.  Max and Erin do their solo last and everyone seems to be having so much fun.  The girls prance around like Madonna and rip their skirts off revealing black bustier costumes underneath.  I enjoyed this group dance so much more than the other one. Bruno said it had a Samba feel but pointed out they lost synchronization at the end. Carrie Ann agrees with Bruno on the synchronization issue and adds that they had a great time. It was a lot of fun. She wishes the skirts had come off earlier.  Len thought the celebrities were brave to start off by themselves. They did fantastic. They get a 8,8,8 for a total of 24.

I hope Pam goes home Tuesday night, she is my least favorite contestant besides Kate.  She is not annoying like Kate, but I find her and Damian dull while on the other hand I am really enjoying the remaining contestants. I think Niecy is very funny so I hope she is not going home.
