Jim Miller, Gleison Tibau To Fight At September UFC Event

News

Lightweight fighters Jim Miller and Gleison Tibau have verbally agreed to fight each other at an event to be determined in September for the UFC. Several sources have reported the verbal agreement but no date has been set and no contracts have been signed at this time.

Miller (17-2) last fought in March at UFC 111 where he defeated Canadian Mark Bocek via unanimous decision. He is on a four fight winning streak since losing to Gray Maynard at UFC 96 in March 2009. Since joining the UFC in 2008, Miller is 6-1 including Submission of the Night honors over David Baron and Fight of the Night honors when he defeated Matt Wiman.

A win could put Miller into title contention. His only two career losses have come to two fighters at the top of the mountain in the UFC lightweight division, Gray Maynard and current Lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar.

Tibau (21-6) is coming off of a dominant performance against Caol Uno in his last fight in March at UFC Fight Night: Florian versus Gomi. The Brazilian is one of the biggest fighters in the lightweight division, but he has lost three of his last seven fights for the UFC.

This is the first fight that has surfaced for the unannounced show in September.
