The first couple safe tonight is Nicole and Derek. Erin and Maks are in jeopardy and in the bottom two. Len gives us his weekly recap. The encore dance performance from last night is Team Gaga but without Pam. She has an injury and Chelsie takes her place.
We get a commercial break and then Train performs “Hey Soul Sister”. I don’t think there’s been a song like this for a long time, something really popular that every age group enjoys that’s simply pleasant to listen to. Some of Billy Joel’s songs had that appeal back in the day. Anyways, the pros dancing are Chelsie, Dmitry, Lacey, Tony, Cheryl and Mark Ballas is recovered and back in force.
Next couple safe is Evan and Ana. Chad and Cheryl may be in jeopardy. The next segment is some of the pros talking about how hard the remaining portion of the competition will be with having to learn two dances, etc. Maks says people only remember the winners, not second place, and he would know since he came in second with Mel. B. He should have won that season.
Niecy and Louis and Pamela and Damian are the remaining couples to find out whether they are in jeopardy are not. Niecy and Louis are safe which pleases me because I enjoy her sense of humor.
Next up is Cirque du Soliel performing a dance from their “Viva Elvis” show. It is a really busy performance with a lot going on and of course some daring acrobatics.
Train performs their second song of the night, “Drops of Jupiter”. Louis and Karina are the dancers and her hair is a lot shorter than normal. At the end of the song her and Louis do this crazy synchronized split across one another and you could tell even Patrick Monahan of Train was like, “Whooaa”, he is impressed.
Chad and Cheryl are safe so Erin and Maks and Pam and Damian are in the bottom two. The judges comment on them. Bruno thinks Pam really knows how to get into character, Carrie Ann says she thought Erin would make it to the end and Len says neither dancer should be in the bottom two.
Pam and Damian are the ones going home and they take their walk down memory lane. Pam says it was one of the best experiences of her life. Tom says they had been trying to get her on the show since season one.
I know a lot of people feel Niecy should be the one going home because Pam is a better dancer but I think Niecy has shown a lot of improvement. There’s a huge entertainment element that gets factored in here, obviously as we saw with Donny Osmond’s win, and Niecy is humorous. Sorry Pam fans, I know it stinks when one of your favorites go home and they have the better dance skills.
