On tonight’s “The Cover-Up”, Michael suspects Donna is cheating on him and hires Dwight to spy on her. Meanwhile, Andy becomes suspicious when Gabe refuses to take a customer complaint seriously.
Michael calls a meeting simply to brag about dating Donna and how they need something to do besides having sex. As Michael discloses details about their relationship, the office begins to suspect that Donna is cheating on Michael. Naturally, he asks Dwight to be his private investigator and find out the truth.
“How much do you charge?”
“$100 a day, plus expenses.”
“I’ll give you $50. Money is no object.”
Andy gets a customer complaint about a printer that began smoking in the middle of a job. Gabe disregards the complaint and Darryl takes advantage of it to plant paranoid thoughts in Andy’s mind (as if Gabe is hiding something) in retaliation for Andy getting the warehouse in trouble the year before. Darryl gets Creed in on his prank, making Andy feel as if he’s been thrust into a cover-up plot.
Meanwhile, Dwight spies on Donna at the gym–gratuitously flirting with her to try and get a response.
“We both know why I’m here. To see you naked. While I’m naked.”
Donna decides to go over to the office to speak with Michael, who admits that he thinks Donna is too good to be true. She asks him to trust her and suggests that they go away for a couple of days. Later, Pam observes that Donna’s jewelry was probably bought for her by another man. Upon investigating further, Pam discovers recent photos of Donna with other men on Facebook.
Gabe tells Andy that he’s investigated and says he’s found only 12 faulty printer reports out of 40,000 printers. Darryl convinces Andy to video tape himself using a printer excessively and the subsequent short out. Darryl is surprised when the printer actually does start smoking and vows never to pull a prank again.
Michael confronts Donna about the pictures and discovers that he is, in fact, the other man. Donna is married.
“I’m your mistress?”
