Seems like just a week ago A-Rod was dismissing Braden because he hadn’t done anything in the majors.
For the second time in two years the Tampa Bay Rays were the victims of a perfect game, this time by Dallas Braden of the Oakland A’s. Braden, 26, was considered one of the top two in the A’s rotation at the start of the year alongside Brett Anderson who is currently on the DL. Braden has stepped up to lead the rotation since Anderson went down leading up to the perfect game Sunday.
Sunday was also Mother’s Day, a day that means something more to Braden. His mother died from cancer when he was in high school, and he was raised by his grandmother, who was lucky enough to be at the game yesterday.
