Sami Salo was on the ice killing a penalty late in the first period Sunday night in Chicago, Salo was hit in the midsection with a shot as time wound down in the period. Salo remained on the ice after time ran our and both teams had made their way to the locker rooms.
Salo was taken to Northwestern Hospital for evaluation, there has been no update on his injury or his status for the rest of the series.
