Patrick Cote To Undergo Hand Surgery

News

UFC 113 was set to be a triumphant night for Patrick Cote. He was set for his UFC return after a 19-month absence due to a knee injury sustained in his fight with Anderson Silva in Oct. 2008.

What UFC 113 turned into was anything but a triumph. Not only did Cote lose his return fight to Alan Belcher, but he’ll now undergo surgery on a broken right hand. Surgery will take place on Tuesday and is expected to sideline the Canadian fighter for three weeks.

Cote injured his hand in the second round of his submission loss to Belcher. Cote posted pictures of his hand on his Twitter account along with a message.

“Sorry to all my fans,” Cote wrote after the defeat.

The loss at UFC 113 dropped Cote’s record to 13-6 overall, including a sub-par 4-6 record fighting for the UFC.
