Mikhail Prokhorov has finally sealed the deal to purchase the New Jersey Nets by a vote of 29-0 by the league, with one team not voting.
Prokhorov, the richest man in Russia at an estimated net-worth of $9.5 Billion, has agreed to buy 80% of the Nets and 45% of an arena building project.
The Nets have salary cap space, estimated to by under next year’s cap by $23 Million, and with a boatload of Super Stars hitting the market and Prokhorov looking to make a splash with the Nets, it could be an interesting summer for Nets fans.
“For those who are already fans of the Nets and the NBA, I intend to give you plenty to cheer about,” said Prokhorov.
