Brad Anderson is one of the most gifted filmmakers that most have never heard of. Migrating from indie comedies (Next Stop Wonderland and Happy Accidents) to uniquely told thrillers Session 9 and The Machinist, Anderson is a director that’s ready to breakout and do something mainstream.
But first he’ll be directing Jack for Bold Films, the company that produced Legion and the upcoming Joe Dante release The Hole.
Anderson will direct from a script by David Venable (Fortress).
The storyline revolves around what happens when a serial killer suffers amnesia and falls in love with a doctor. As the killer’s memories begin to surface, he must decide whether to make a clean start or embrace the killer within.
Sound off: The premise is on the side of A History of Violence, but Viggo Mortensen was great in the role. If you’ve seen Brad Anderson’s The Machinist – where Christian Bale wilts away on screen – you know that he can adeptly handle a psychological thriller. This could be the film that gets him recognized if it’s marketed correctly and gets a good cast. If anyone is a fan of Brad Anderson’s films let your opinions known.
