The powerless Hood sought new powers from Count Nefaria, the father of his lady Madame Masque. His gang gave up his cousin, John King, to the Avengers, who take him and go after the Hood.
Ms. Marvel vs Count Nefaria, as Hood and Masque job almost instantly. Nefaria, the immortal monster of awesome that he is, beats down Carol and screams of his immortality before Bryan Hitch draws one of the best Wolverine’s I’ve seen in years, as he shows up to bring the pain. Nefaria goes down, the New Avengers are victorious.
They dump the bodies with Maria Hill, who promptly informs them that they are no longer outlaws, that the Registration Act is gone, and that they can live happily ever after.
After several double page splashes ripped from various points in the book, we’re treated to the final image of the team walking, as civilians, through Central Park as Luke Cage narrarates.
We won.
