The Triple Crown Leader is headed to the DL with a broken pinkie.
Either broke his pinkie while taking batting practice last week, the broken digit doesn’t allow Eithier to hold the bat the way he normally does. On Sunday the team fitted Eithier with a brace hoping that would allow him to swing the bat, but they’ve decided to play it conservatively with him instead.
Ethier was leading the league in all three Triple Crown categories at the time of his injury, batting .393 with 11 homers and 38 RBIs.
And naturally, now that Eithier is headed for the DL, his bobblehead day is coming up at Dodger Stadium.
