News on Jeff Hardy’s WWE Contract Offer & TNA Title Aspirations

News

WWE’s last unofficial offer to Jeff Hardy before he went to TNA was a $750,000 downside guarantee where he would only have to work 65 dates per year. This would have given him the lightest schedule of anybody they had, including Shawn Michaels. Hardy turned it down because he was upset that nobody in WWE supported him after his arrest. He took exception to them having C.M. Punk cut promos about his arrest on-air, since by that point he was not with the company and it was not building up any future matches. Hardy would have been chosen to become TNA World Heavyweight Champion ahead of Rob Van Dam had his court case not been scheduled for 10 May. As it turned out, his trial was pushed back again to 3 June.
