Introducing our brand new Housewife, Sonja Morgan! Yes, ex-wife of one of the JP Morgan brood. There’s being well off and there’s being stanky rich. New housewives are hit or miss (see: Kelly) but I think I’m going to like her. She’s a nice dose of sparkle, just when the fights were getting a little too ugly to watch.
Another welcome dose to the show? Bobby. Jill’s better half is telling her to dial down the evil, but it doesn’t work too well. At Brooklyn Fashion Weekend, Jill poo-poos about how it’s next to a pile of garbage and Ramona’s necklace doesn’t match the dress and how Mario didn’t come to cheer his hot sexy wife (ugly sarcastic face) and Alex looks like she’s channeling the devil… Ick. Jill is not a nice person. No matter how awesome Bobby is.
Jill has an idiotic exchange with Kelly about her email. She really just wants the people on her side to have zero communication with Bethenny, but instead she goes on about how Kelly was being a kiss ass. Kelly begins a talk on PR 101 and PR 102… listen, honey, if you were some sort of marketing whizz, you wouldn’t come across as a complete and total nutjob.
But forget them, Brooklyn Fashion Weekend has bigger things going on. Apparently Ramona wasn’t offered a modeling spot, but luckily for us she asked for one! That walk was the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen in a long time. Eyes bulging, necklace backward, with the gait of a drunk robot. She looked terrified! Or terrifying? Ramona turned this episode from average into amazing. Anytime I need a laugh, I can turn to Ramona’s walk from planet Wackadoo.
Also from outer space, the scene with Bethenny peeing on a pregnancy test. B, there are cameras around, close the door. Why did the producers decide to show that? Ickkkk.
That being said, I’m very happy about the pregnancy, and her in the bathroom floor, frantically on the phone, was a very Bethenny moment.
What else? Oh yes, Jill’s Kodak event. Ramona should be a little bit more tactful, but really? How does stuff like that escalate? Any other person would have said “Whatever, Romi” and walked away. But Jill freaks out, involves her Flying Monkeys (Kelly and LuAnn), who then round on Ramona, and proceed to fight during the big presentation. Yawn-worthy final segment, although on any other show it probably would have been worth two episodes.
I’d rather watch ten more Ramona Runway walks. I do agree with one thing she said, Kelly has no brain and should shut up.
Random Thoughts
- The scene with Mario and Ramona was kind of sweet, kind of awkward. In intimate moments like those I feel like the cameras should not be present.
- Loved watching Simon shopping. Hated everything Kelly-related about that segment.
