The elite boxer was diagnosed with a mild ulcer during a regular check-up on Sunday.
This came just weeks after Pacquiao finished a run for congress in his home country of the Phillippines where he won a seat in the House of Representatives.
His wife said the campaign was very tough on Manny and that he had missed several meals.
His promoters are working on Pacquiao’s next fight, tenatively scheduled for November. Rumors of a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight have been picking up steam recently. The fallback option at this time appears to be Antonio Margarito.
