ROH News: Christopher Daniels Enters Title Picture, Tyler Black’s New Feud, Roderick Strong’s Turn, and more

News

The following news items were posted on the May 25th edition of the ROH Newswire:

At this past weekend’s ROH on HDNet tapings, Christopher Daniels threw his name into the title picture by interrupting the contract signing for the ROH World Title Match at “Death Before Dishonor V” between Tyler Black and Davey Richards. Daniels said that he doesn’t just want the winner of the title match, but both the winner and the loser.

Tyler Black also appears to be entering a new feud, as he and Kevin Steen crossed paths this past weekend when Steen interfered in Black’s non-title match against El Generico.

As Pulse Glazer reported earlier, Roderick Strong completed his heel turn in Philadelphia this past weekend. Strong has aligned himself with Truth Martini, who will now be “representing” Strong.

Just like last year, the winner of this year’s “Toronto Gauntlet” on June 19th will receive an ROH World Title shot at a later date. The first two participants announced for the gauntlet are Steve Corino and Colt Cabana.

ROH has released updated Pick 6 standings, and they are as follows:

1) Roderick Strong
2) Christopher Daniels
3) Kevin Steen
4) Chris Hero
5) Davey Richards
6) Kenny King

ROH has also added a new rule to the Pick 6 Contenders Series, whereby “ROH Officials reserve the right to name a championship contender via special bout or official ruling.” Therefore, the winner of the aforementioned “Toronto Gauntlet” need not be ranked to receive his title shot.

Kenny Omega has issued a challenge to Austin Aries for June 18th in Buffalo. Aries is said to be taking the challenge “under advisement”, and a statement is forthcoming.

ROH has released several promotional videos for “Death Before Dishonor V”. Check them out below:
