In just a few short years, Facebook has become the best way for people around the world to meet and stay connected. It seems only natural that MMA fighters would find a niche on the site. While there will always be debate about who the best fighter in the world is, the debate on the most popular fighter is quite clear, at least on Facebook.
Not only is Georges St. Pierre the UFC Welterweight champion and arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, he also tops the list of the most popular fighters on Facebook, and it’s not even a close race. St. Pierre is closing in on 300,000 “fans” on the site, more than double the total of the second most popular fighter, Anderson Silva.
Kimbo Slice, Fedor Emelianenko, and Forrest Griffin round out the top five. Emelianenko is the only fighter in the top 10 that hasn’t fought or is still fighting for the UFC. One of many interesting notes shows current number one contender Josh Koscheck coming in at 94 on the list, while MMA newcomer Bobby Lashley finds himself at number 25.
