Target Field is sure living up to the Minnesota Outdoorsy attitude. A bird ate a moth a few weeks back and now a Squirrel found its way onto the field.
I was at the game and as Alex Rodriguez was settling in to bat, a loud roar came up from left field as I looked over I saw the squirrel on the field. Naturally everyone in the stadium started laughing and cheering for the squirrel. There was even a “Let’s Go Squirrel” chant going at one point. The squirrel eventually ran right past Twins 3rd baseman Brendan Harris causing him to jump out of the way.
The squirrel eventually made his way out to the outfield and ran back and forth underneath the padding of the wall.
A few innings later the game was suspended due to heavy rains and thunderstorms in the area.
