Dancing with the Stars Finale Part 2 Review

The show starts off with a group dance to “I’m So Excited”.  Chad is sidelined with a football injury. Tom and Brooke tell us that there will be a favorites round where the competitors dance their favorite dances, but only one couple can get the perfect score.  They all decide to dance the Tango.

Nicole and Derek dance to “El Capitalismo Foraneo”.  Evan and Anna dance to “Bust Your Windows”  Maks and Erin dance to a “Argentine Tango”. The perfect score goes to Nicole and Derek, with Evan and Anna receiving a 28, and Erin and Maks a 26.

Now comes the part of the finale where we get to see all the stars dance one last time.  Shannen, Aiden, and Buzz are up first in a combined number.  Buzz is in a bejeweled space suit that Tom says is from the “NASA Liberace collection.”  Perfect.

We revisit the movie night theme from earlier this season.  Next, Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower dance with Dmitry Chaplin and Vienna (Jake’s fiance) to  “On The Wings Of Love.” Vienna and Jake close the performance by dancing together. There’s something about Vienna that reminds me of Lady GaGa.

We are then treated to the “Top Five Fights” of the season and I am so sick of that clip of Maks jumping up and down while arguing with Erin. Tom talks to some of the previous season’s competitors such as Kelly Monaco and Apolo Anton Ohno, who is awesome.

We then learn Maks and Erin come in third place.  Everyone has commented on how far Erin has come this season, but I think it’s amazing how far Maks has come.  We have experienced the patient, encouraging, and tender Maks during his time with Erin, and it’s been pretty cool to see.  Even Tom points out this is the most emotional he has ever seen Maks at the closing of his time on a season. He and Erin dance the Cha Cha to “Relax Max”.

Next up is the Collegiate Dance Challenge Finals, Purdue against Utah Valley University. UVU wins and I could care less about the college dance competition.

Next is input from around the entertainment media from people such as Larry King, Regis and Kelly, etc discussing Evan vs. Nicole. We find out only five points separate the finalists. Then we are treated to a performance by Kate Gosselin. Why she gets so much time on this show or any other is beyond me so I am not going to give her much time here except to say her dancing sucked as always and she gets raised on a platform attached to a camera and it was embarrassing to watch.

Next Pam and Niecy dance a sexy number.  Pam starts out by being lowered from the ceiling from a circular perch. Then she dances with Damian, Dmitry and Tony to “I Just Want To Make Love To You” and I never realized how short Damian is until now.  Niecy comes out to “Bootylicious” dancing with Louis, Dmitry and Tony and she is bootylicious.

Nicole and Derek dance their last dance of the season and it’s the jive to “Proud Mary”.  They dance it perfectly like everything else they have done.  Len says she should win.  Geez I hope Evan didn’t hear that.  Bruno called it their “crowning glory” and Carrie Ann loved it as well. They get a perfect score.

Evan And Anna dance the Foxtrot to “I Want You to Want Me”.  Bruno says Evan’s performance level has advanced and Evan is  dashing, sexy and can now “do charming”.  Carrie Ann says he won the hearts of everyone and she sums up how I felt about  Evan this season with “I see a true champion but not only in the way you dance but the way you approached the competition”.  She also comments how well he takes criticism.  Len says Evan has been a joy with an elegance and charm and that he did a fantastic job. They get a 28 from the judges with Carrie Ann giving the only ten. Evan tells Brooke that he and Anna will forever be bound by their experience on the show. I really love Evan’s personality.

They announce the winners and it’s Nicole and Derek who definitely deserve it.  They did some amazing performances and I think she got her perfectionistic tendencies under control toward the end which made her more pleasurable to watch.  So thanks for reading and ’til next time!!!
