20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced an August 3 release date for Diary of a Wimpy Kid‘s Blu-ray Disc/DVD/Digital Copy Combo Pack and single disc DVD. Billed as “The Cheesiest Edition,” the releases will be packed with never-before-seen deleted diary pages.
The film is based on Jeff Kinney’s first novel, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. With more than 30 million copies in print, it spent almost three years on The New York Times‘ children’s best-seller list.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and Spanish and French 5.1 DD.
Both the Blu-ray and DVD include “Greg’s Deleted Diary Pages”, which bring the diary to life with all-new, never-before-seen hysterical moments not included in the feature film such as a rundown of the benefits of the Cheese Touch, more gross, silly Fregley fun, and Rowley’s lost Zoo-Wee Mama cartoons.
The suggested list price of the Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack and the standard DVD is $39.99 U.S and $29.98 U.S., respectively.
