MLB News: St. Louis Cardinals Re-Call Aaron Miles

News

In a waste of a roster spot, the Cardinals have promoted infielder/midget Aaron Miles from Double A Springfield. Miles, who played with the Cardinals from 2006-08, signed with the Cubs in 2009. After a crappy season, Miles was traded to the Athletics prior to the 2010 season; he was then traded again to the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds cut him out of Spring Training. He signed a minor league deal with the Cardinals on April 30th.

Why he’s back, I don’t know; they already have a similar player in Brendan Ryan. Ryan has the advantage because he can actually play decent defense. Tony LaRussa will probably play Miles at every position; he’s played everywhere but first, catcher, and centerfield in his previous stint with the Cardinals.

I guess he’s got pictures of Mozeliak…
