The New Orleans Hornets have reportedly offered their vacant head coach position to Boston assistant coach Tom Thibodeau.
However, they’re not willing to wait on Thibodeau to finish up this season. They have reportedly told Thibodeau they want a decison before game 1 of the Finals, and it they don’t get a decision, they will move on to another candidate.
Thibodeau is a hot candidate in coaching circles this offseason, as he has also drawn interest from the Nets and the Bulls, and Thibodeau wants to examine those offers before deciding on the Hornets job.
If Thibodeau passes on the Hornets, they are likely to look to Portland assistant Monty Williams, who is thought to be favored by Guard Chris Paul.
