Pulse Wrestling Report: WWE Superstars, 06.03.2010: Gail Kim, Chavo & Dolph (plus an old must-see video!)

Reviews, Shows, Top Story, TV Shows

Hi I’m Tim Evans, and welcome to my first WWE Superstars report!

1. Mark Henry vs Primo

– The first match on Superstars is brought to you by Raw. Mark Henry comes out wearing the colors of University of Texas since Superstars is coming from there. Primo starts the match doing cartwheels and trying to heel it up but Mark Henry will have none of that. Primo gets at least a little offense in by going after the knee. After Primo misses a top rope move, Henry comes back and hits the world largest slam for the win in about 2 minutes.

Winner: Mark Henry

A graphic is shown hyping a Tiffany vs Michelle Mccool match later on.

JYD Classics on Demand commercial is shown.

2. Gail Kim vs Jillian

– Before the match starts, we find out that Michael Cole follows Zach Ryder on Twitter and he hums the A Team theme song. Gail does a nice move early where she goes through the ropes and hits a hurricanrana on Jillian to the outside. However, Jillian takes advantage by throwing Gail into the barrier. Gail makes a comeback after Jillian misses her Handspring splash but it’s short lived when Jillian hits a Superplex. Jillian keeps trying to pin Gail but Gail reverses it and hits her Eat Da Feet finisher for the win.

Winner: Gail Kim

Another Graphic is show saying Tiffany/Michelle is next and that’s the end of Raw’s portion of Superstar.

3. Co-Women’s champion Michelle Mccool w/ Layla vs Tiffany

– I just gotta start by saying Tiffany’s theme music is just god awful. Laycool spends the time Tiffany comes to the ring by laughing at her. Michelle in a great move throws Tiffany to the outside and kicks her head into the Announcer’s table. All this while Matt Striker is cheering her on. Tiffany attempts a come back but Michelle reverses a roll up and hits the Faith Breaker for the win. After the match, Matt Striker sings the Team Laycool theme song.

Winner: Michelle McCool

Backstage Segment with Vickie and Chavo Guerrero. Chavo promises he will win in his match vs Christian. Dolph Ziggler comes in and Vickie stars hitting on him. She wants to talk with him after the show.

A video package of Evan Bourne is shown.

NXT is recapped with footage from the show. For those that don’t know, Wade Barrett won.

4. Chrisitan vs Chavo Guerrero

– Christian makes his entrance just before the commercial break. Clips of Hornswoggle/Christian vs Dolph/Chavo is shown after the Commercial. Chavo and Christian have a back and forth match until Vickie Guerrero comes out to monster heat and announces the match is now a handicap match with Christian vs Chavo and Dolph Ziggler. We come back from commercial with Dolph taunting Christian and making him miss a move. Dolph tags in and just takes control. Striker and Grisham spend the rest of the match talking about Vickie and Dolph’s “relationship”. Vickie is show backstage looking at the match with approval. Christian makes a come back after Dolph misses a move and starts hitting all his signature moves. Dolph moves out of the way of a splash and tags Chavo. Chavo misses a frog splash and Christian hits the Killswitch. However, Christian didn’t know Dolph tagged Chavo before the frog splash and Dolph comes in to hit the Zig Zag for the win.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler and Chavo Guerrero

[Editor’s note: it’s nice to see Kerwin White and his trusty caddy Nick Nemeth back together again!]

Final thoughts: I always find Superstars to be at least entertaining and this was no different. The Divas matches were good and the main was the same.
