Billed as a “World Exclusive Premiere” at the MTV Movie Awards, Warner Bros. unveiled a short mini-trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It looks to be a clipped version of a full-length trailer that is forthcoming. (My money is on it being attached to prints of The Last Airbender or The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.) Having never read the books, what I gather from the short trailer is that Voldemort’s power is near capacity and he wants to kill Harry Potter once and for all. Harry and Ron have a heated exchange (boys will be boys), and one of the extra fire-breathers from How to Train Your Dragon makes an appearance. The first half of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows arrives in November. Check out the trailer below.
Voldemort’s power is growing. He now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to finish Dumbledore’s work and find the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat Voldemort.
British filmmaker David Yates continues his work behind the camera on the Harry Potter series, as Deathly Hallows follows his Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince. Steve Kloves handles the adaptation, having written five of the previous movies. Deathly Hallows is the final installment in J.K. Rowling’s best selling fantasy series. The first half will arrive in theaters on November 19, 2010. Part two will follow on July 15, 2011. So wax those wands and study up on your potions.
