NBA News: Cleveland Cavaliers Looking At Hiring Michigan State's Tom Izzo

News

The Michigan State coach might be the next coach in Cleveland.

Izzo has said that he wants to win at least one more National Championship with Michigan State before thinking about the pros, but that hasn’t stopped Cleveland from offering him their vacant position.

Cleveland fired both head coach Mike Brown and GM Danny Ferry in a complete overall of the front office this offseason in hopes of keeping Lebron James in town.

The Cavaliers also considered Izzo for the coaching position in 2005 when they ultimately hired Mike Brown.

Izzo is under contract at Michigan State through 2016 and earns an estimated $3 million annually.
