Underworld creator brings back Wetworks for Wildstorm

News, Top Story

Wildstorm’s The Bleed blog has announced that:

The much-missed Wetworks team is back in a special one-shot special this September – Wetworks: Mutations.

Writing duties will be handled by Kevin Grevioux (screenwriter of the Underworld series) and Christopher Long. The art (which I can’t wait to show you) will be handled by hotshot rookie artist Julius Gopez. In the mean time, check out the one-shot cover by the great Brandon Badeaux.

Wetworks

About Wetworks: Mutations #1: Roaming the post-Apocalyptic American landscape, it’s Wetworks like you’ve never seen them before. With their symbiotes no longer reliably functioning, the team finds themselves running up against Lord Defile, intent upon remaking the ruined Earth in his own vision, which includes experimenting on human prisoners to create a hybrid species! Writer, actor and co-creator of the Underworld movie franchise Kevin Grevioux and co-writer Christopher Long bring their unique take to this classic WildStorm franchise, with incredibly detailed art by newcomer Julius Gopez.

Glad to see the Wetworks team is coming back to print. I’m also a fan of the Underworld movie trilogy so knowing that Kevin Grevioux is attached to the project is encouraging. However, it’s a long way from the early days… 16 years ago!
