Michigan State’s head coach spent Thursday in Cleveland meeting with Cavs officials and reportedly came out leaning towards the NBA.
A source told ESPN’s Katz that Izzo, who talked to his team earlier this week about his interest in the Cavaliers, is leaning toward taking the job if it is offered.
“Three weeks ago that wasn’t the case, but it has changed,” the source said.
Izzo is reportedly mulling over a contract worth about $6 million per year to coach the Cavs.
It’s not known whether or not Izzo gave the team a timetable on when he would make his decision by, but he said he wouldn’t let it linger too long, saying “”it won’t go on forever, I can tell you that.””
