While by no means a guarantee, it is being reported that Twentieth Century Fox has offered the directorial role of the film to the Sin City director. Fox apparently also offered him the Planet of the Apes prequel at some point, but I’m assuming that will never happen. That said, having the offer does not mean he’s going to be doing the movie, but it would be kinda awesome if he was.
What we do know is that the movie will star Ryan Reynolds, who is still on track to play the title character, and who reportedly is still in regular contact with screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (the two also wrote Zombieland).
If Rodriguez does agree to direct, this could easily be the most awesome comedy action flick of all time.
