The BBC, which has received over 500 complaints about the horns, is working on a way to remove the sound of the horns from the telecast. Viewers would hit the “red button” to view the match with the ambient noise muted and it would be just the commentators.

It’s not an ideal situation because you lose some of the flavor of the match without hearing the ball being struck or any cheers that make it over the vuvuzelas, but it would be an option for the people who can’t stand the sound of the horns.
