By finding the solution to a problem that has tormented Reed Richards for years. They’ve found a way to allow Ben Grimm to be….Ben Grimm. Their explanation is that when the cosmic rays changed the bodies of the Fantastic Four, his default form became his Thing form. He wasn’t given an on/off switch like the others, and the problem Reed kept coming across was looking at it as needing to fully remove Ben’s powers.
By figuring out an off switch for them, they’ve devised a formula that will change Ben’s life forever. It won’t allow him to be Ben Grimm at will, but for one week every year….he’ll be the man, and not The Thing.
