Paranormal Activity 2 Trailer To Be Attached To Eclipse

News, Trailers

Paranormal Activity 2, the sequel to last October’s runaway horror movie hit, is due to be released in just a few months. Little to nothing is known about the plot, the cast or even when audiences might see the film’s first trailer.

Well, scratch that last one off the list. According to Shock Till You Drop, the first teaser trailer for Paranormal Activity 2 will be attached to prints of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse next Wednesday.

Kip Williams directs the sequel from a script written by Michael R. Perry. It is not known at this time if the sequel will continue the original’s found footage format or if, like the sequel to 1999’s The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity 2 will switch to a straight-up narrative feature.

Shooting has just recently began on Paranormal Activity 2 and the film opens on October 22 — the same weekend as Saw VII 3D, the supposed final chapter in the Saw franchise.

The Buzz: I’m really curious to see where producers take the storyline for Paranormal Activity 2. As I see it, the sequel can go in either one of two ways — a brand new cast of characters experience more ghost/demon related shenanigans involving a haunting being captured on camera or the original’s storyline is picked back up with a possessed/formally-possessed Katie (Katie Featherston) on the run from police, demonologists or a combination of the two.

Either way, it’s going to be a tough job for Paranormal Activity 2 to recapture the magic of the original — especially since the first film does not thrive well under repeat viewings.

That said, is there anybody who still gets excited about a new Saw movie?
