Scream 4 Loses Lake Bell

Casting News, News

Due to scheduling conflicts, Lake Bell will no longer play Judy Hicks, the police officer and high school friend of Sydney Prescott. Latino Review lists a truck load of reasons why Bell is leaving, including her attachment to two television shows and her involvement in an as-yet untitled Ivan Reitman film.

The rest of the cast is filled with the survivors from the other three Scream films, including Neve Campbell, Cortney Cox, and David Arquette. The Wes Craven directed thriller is set to hit theaters on April 15, 2011.

The Pulse: As much as I love Wes Craven, I can’t work up a lot of interest in another Scream film. I mean, sure, I’ll watch it, but I’m in no way excited about it. I’d much rather see him make a new supernatural horror movie.

But that’s just me. What do you think? Are you excited about a new Scream movie, or has the story and characters overstayed their welcome?
