Soccer News: FIFA Officals To Censor In Stadium Replays

They’re taking a page from the MLB’s book and not showing controversial replays.

The problem started in Sunday’s Argentina v Mexico game when the screens inside the stadium showed Argentina forward Carlos Tevez being offside before scoring the first goal of the game. Mexico players reacted to the replay and began arguing with the referee.

FIFA spokesman Nicolas Maingot said Monday that replaying the incident was “a clear mistake.”

At halftime there was a large confrontation of players and coaches behind the Mexico bench possibly over the missed call.

Argentina went on to win the game 3-1.
