MMA Junkie is reporting that the UFC has confirmed that Thiago Alves vs. Jon Fitch will be the co-main event of UFC 117. The fight between long-time welterweight contenders was meant to take place at UFC 111 but was cancelled at the last minute after the New Jersey State Athletic Commission suspended Alves after he failed a CT scan.
In other news, today the UFC announced that it has signed South Korean middleweight Dong-Yi Yang. The unbeaten fighter has secured all of his nine victories within the distance.
