NHL News: Chicago Blackhawks Deal Kris Versteeg To Toronto

The fire sale continues.

Kris Versteeg and Bill Sweatt were dealt from the Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks to the Toronto Maple Leafs for forwards Viktor Stalberg, Chris DiDomenico and Philippe Paradis.

Versteeg scored 20 goals and 24 assists in the regular season and added 6 goals and 8 assists in the playoffs.

Versteeg had signed a 3-year-deal with the team last offseason hoping to stay in Chicago long term, but with the pending contracts of Duncan Keith, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Antii Niemi, there wasn’t room under the cap for Versteeg.
