10 Thoughts On Liking Or Hating John Cena

Columns, Features, Top Story

Well, my schedule has been hectic the past few days. Work driving me nearly six feet to the ground; family issues; and emergencies keep me busy. As a result, last week’s 10 Thoughts did not come to be, but I’ll use the topic I was going to do another time as I want to do something a bit different. Everyone loves him and everyone hates him. Too bad you can’t be him. Who, do you ask? To the topic!

This week’s topic: 10 Thoughts on Liking or Hating John Cena

1. You hate John Cena because he is the “company man”. He does what the company wants him to do. He gets shoved down your throats because he gets the cheers from the kids to the single women alike.

2. You like John Cena because he is one of the best outside of the ring. From Make-A-Wish to seeing him out and about. He is the one person that you always see doing things that benefit everyone.

3. You hate John Cena because he is always in the main event. This is because Triple H isn’t in the main event enough that you need someone else to hate. If anyone is going to break Ric Flair’s 16 World Titles (provided that TNA doesn’t give him #17), John Cena has a better chance of doing that than Triple H, even if Triple H is closer.

4. You hate John Cena because he can’t wrestle – even if the statement is false. He structures a match better than some people and can take bumps better than others. The “You Can’t Wrestle” chants mainly come from smarks when the WWE is in the northeastern U.S., mainly because most of them catch Ring of Honor every now and then.

5. You like John Cena because his promos are always fun to watch. He is the guy that can go from super-serial to goofy back to super-serial in the course of one promo. Calling Sheamus a “human jar of mayo” is one such thing he caught on from the IWC.

6. You like John Cena because he consistantly sells merchandise. Everytime he has a shirt come out, everyone wants one. From shirts to bling, you desire it, WWE has it.

7. You hate John Cena because he has the same “five moves” he uses every match. Does that mean you hate Bret Hart for using the same “five moves” he called the “Five Moves of Doom”? Most likely not.

8. You like John Cena because you are a part of the CeNation. Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Gmail…you keep up with what he’s doing because you want to know.

9. You hate John Cena because you believe he’s not a good actor and not a good rapper. But the sad thing is – neither are you.

10. You like John Cena because he does his job and entertain the fans day in day out. He knows people don’t like him, but it’s okay. The CeNation will always have his support.

Sound off in the comments why you like or hate John Cena. There’s quite of bit more reasons out there, like Cena kissing Maria Kanelis and having a romance angle with Mickie James that involved a thong, motel room, and who knows what else. Next week, I hope to be back on schedule (though I’ll be high on adrenaline from my trip to Kansas City), but I should find something to talk to ten about. See you all next week!
