The Boston Celtics won’t be looking for a new coach next season, as current head coach Doc Rivers will return for another season.
Rivers has a 280-212 record with the Celtics, including NBA Finals appearances in 2 of the last 3 years.
The determining factor was Rivers’ family. “My kids all said, ‘You’re a coach. That’s what you are. And you’re a parent, and we appreciate both.’ And so that made it easier” said Rivers.
Having Rivers back will help the Celtics with recruiting free agents and keeping Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo happy. The Celtics have Paul Pierce and Ray Allen who are both headed to free agency.
