UFC Video: Press Conference + Interviews with Former WWE Stars About Brock Lesnar (& Some Trivia!)

News, Top Story

F4Wonline.com has posted video from the post-pay-per-view press conference as well as Brock Lesnar’s locker room that shows the UFC Champ being congratulated by The Rock, as well as Paul Heyman in the background.

Full press conference footage is at the link above, and here is the Lesnar portion that our good friend Ariel Helwani from AOL Fanhouse posted on YouTube shortly after it ended:

Of course, Heyman was Brock’s first storyline manager when he debuted in the WWF, and Lesnar defeated The Rock to win the WWF Undisputed Championship, Lesnar’s first title in the WWF/WWE, at SummerSlam 2002 in Nassau Coliseum as Dwayne Johnson was about to head off to really kick his acting career into high gear.

Also, the great folks at InsideFights.com have video of Heyman, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bill Goldberg and Jim Ross talking about UFC 116 after the event. Heyman has interesting things to say about Brock and about pro wrestling, and as mentioned earlier, JR not only looked healthy after his latest bout with bell’s palsy, but he also SOUNDS great in this interview.

Some more trivia: Stone Cold once walked out on the WWF legit after refusing to do the job to Lesnar in what he felt was a match that had no build-up (I believe a King of the Ring qualifier; Lesnar went on to win KOTR that year and get the above-mentioned title shot at The Rock). Here’s a promo The Rock cut after the infamous Austin walk-out:

Also: Goldberg was Lesnar’s final opponent in WWE, at WrestleMania XX in Madison Square Garden, during which both men got booed out of the building since the fans knew they were both leaving imminently, and which ended with Goldberg winning and then special guest ref Austin giving the Stone Cold Stunner to both men as the crowd cheered. Ross, of course, recruited Lesnar when he was EVP and head of talent development for the company. And of course, as previously reported, and confirmed in the press conference by Brock, Heyman is working with Lesnar on his book.
