NBA News: Amare Stoudemire And New York Knicks Agree To Terms

News, Top Story

The Knicks are still looking to add another big piece, but the first piece has fallen.

Stoudemire and the Knicks agreed to a 5-year, $99.7 million deal that will reunite Stoudemire with his old coach Mike D’Antoni with whom he had great success.

The Knicks have been assured the Stoudemire agreement will not be an impediment to their chances of signing James or Wade, and the Knicks believe the signing might actually help with their pursuit of James.

The agreement effectively removed the Knicks from the pursuit of Chris Bosh, and it significantly reduced the chances of David Lee returning to New York.
